After These Messages…Soon

It’s been a long wait, I know, but the new album really is coming along. My trusty illustrator/designer, Jude Buffum was recently bombarded by a ton of big jobs, so the album artwork is on the backburner for now, but don’t worry, I have something to tide over all the fine folks that have actually been following the progress on the album (plus anyone who happens upon my blog without previous knowledge of said album, and those who forgot about it and also stumble back this way).

Did I mention that the official title of the album is After These Messages?

Right…as I promised, below you will find a sample of title screens from the theoretical “games” that will be on the album. These will all be part of a Flash player that will be available with the official pre-release of the album, which will allow you fine folks to listen to the entire album online.

Enjoy!

Airwolf Cheers
Different Strokes The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Gummi Bears Heathcliff
Law & Order Night Court
Tales From The Crypt Thundercats

This is less that one third of the tracks that will be on the final album, so this should be a real treat for all you 80’s TV Shows/Cartoons and Video Game lovers out there.

How can you have Airworlf but not KNIGHT RIDER? I wanna hear 8bit Knight Rider… the Acclaim cart for NES didn’t even have the real theme (whereas the Turbo Grafix 16 version for Japan did).

I generally tried to stay away from themes that were already made into NES games, with a few exceptions. I also wanted to vary the types of shows so there would be something for everyone.

I think it is a great idea that seems to have been put on the back burner for some reason. I would really like to see it released.

@MarkZ, Jaimie Martin, Steve RObinson and JohnD – This has been finished for awhile but the album art is on hold. My trusty illustrator is swapped with other projects that actually pay, haha. I’m hoping to get it out as soon as possible but there may be a bunch of legal issues to look into as well so it could be awhile yet.

I have some more tracks and push-start screens I want you, Octoroc, to throw in and try out:

> Doogie Howser, M.D.
> The Wonder Years (Joe Cocker – With a Little Help From My Friends)
> The A-Team
> Press Your Luck
> Super Password
> The Young and the Restless
> Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
> Card Sharks (80’s)
> Garfield and Friends

There may be a few other themes from the 70’s and 80’s we remember. :)

Comment by Steve 04.17.10 @ 4:26 pm

@Steve – I have done the A-Team theme, but I’m up to 33 tracks already, so the rest might have to wait for a sequal album :-)

Comment by Doctor Octoroc 04.17.10 @ 4:58 pm

Oh, you must do He-Man and the Masters of the universe.
Denver The last dinosaur had a really catchy tune as well.
Inspector Gadget really reminds me of the 80s.

This is going to be epic!

Comment by Minkman 06.08.10 @ 8:44 pm

He-Man is on the album :-)
