Ouside Crowd

I was going to post this morning around 3am when I got back from the event but seeing as I slept a total of 4 hours during the two days prior in order to finish all my work, I needed to crash.

So, without further hesitation, I present the art of 32-Bit Genocide (for pictures of the bands, you can find some shots by pIENESS on Flickr!).

Pictures after the jump…

I’ll begin with pictures of the setup. I ended up using the better part of the back portion of space, and 8-Bit Artist setup at the front. Leo and Suiker Panda setup in between us, the duo of cute Asians next to me, and Leo between my Super Smash Bros Brawl wall and 8-Bit, around a thermostat he attempted to sell for $750…no luck with that.

All of the artists and musicians involved with the event signed their names on the front interior wall in chalk. Some of us got a bit more creative with their signatures…

Initially, 8-Bit, Leo and some others drew on the outisde wall as well as some inside walls with the sidewalk chalk. It started out with Samus, Kirby, Link, Mario, Mega Man and a Hard hat Hulligan, then a bunch of the attendees got their hands on the chalk and went to town on every wall they could find.

I didn’t have much luck selling any of my larger pieces – perhaps I should have instituted a raffle like 8-Bit Artist did (among those he put into the raffle was the Ninja Gaiden dual) - but my strategy I was to press The Megas to all chip in to buy Skull Castle for their tour…once again, no luck there. I’m pretty sure that everyone involved was thoroughly pleased with the event.

I’ll leave you with a few more random pictures, including close ups of my two largest pieces, as well as a 3-D Voltron I made just for the show.

I know this is old news, but by any chance do you have any more pictures of that mega man/protomen “Will of One” / “Hope Rides Alone” mural?
