Anyone On DeviantART Want To Help Me Out?

Apparently, someone over at deviantART needs to get their eyes checked - or has something against me.

As many of you know, I dabble in the art of fuse-beads, and run a VG Art Forum that predominantly features bead sprite art. A good friend of mine from the forum and deviantART, Crausse, recommended me for a Daily Deviant and got, what I consider to be, a bullshit reply. He recommended my Spawn Layered Bead Sprite for the DD, and received this message in response:

Sorry, but the photo is quite out-of-focus and although photography of an artwork is not my main criterion, it does have to be at least moderately good enough so that it showcases an artwork well, otherwise there’s the risk of someone flaming the artist for the photography. Nevermind that flamers are picking at the photography when they should be critiquing the object within the photo, but it does happen and that’s a shame. And unfortunately, it seems that the photography of his artworks in his entire gallery are all out-of-focus.

Take a look at the photograph of this piece and you’ll see that it is well lit, well taken, and well in-focus. You can see every bead in there, for fuck’s sake. Not only that, but this guy claims that every piece in my gallery is out of focus - and not just out of focus, but not “moderately good enough”. I’m not a professional photographer, but I know how to take a damn picture that is flattering to my work. This guy is simply full of shit.

My first thought would be to send this guy a message and tell him he needs new glasses - however, I have a better idea. If you’re a member of deviantART, recommend this piece for a DD. I want to get as many people as possible to recommend this.

Hopefully, this will get me the Daily Deviant, and this guy will realize that he’s an idiot.

Final 8-Bit Jesus Update

Just to let all the fine folks (who’ve ordered 8-Bit jesus so far) know, I mailed out the very last of the cd’s today, so all of you should be receiving your copies of the album soon! Thanks again to everyone who ordered the album during the Christmas season, as it helped pay for the surgery for my then 6-month old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Ein. He’s doing awesome as ever. Don’t forget, there are still plenty of cd’s available for a $15 donation, so send your friends over for a copy!

8-Bit Jesus Bonus Track

It just occured to me that many of you who bought the physical copy of 8-Bit Jesus have already listened to the tracks quite a bit and burned them to a CD, so when you receive the physical copy, you might be tempted to leave it in its beautiful shrink wrap. Even for those that took a look inside, chances are, you haven’t actually listened to the disc.

Well, I think you should, because there is a bonus track on there! That’s right, it’s the gift that gives again, so go listen to the CD if you haven’t already. Track 19 is the bonus track, naturally.

For those that have not received their copy yet, I have mailed out all copies ordered before December 23rd, and a few ordered on the 23rd. The rest of you, your copies will be on their way sometime this week. Everyone should receive their copies by mid-February, except some of you international folk. I imagine yours will be along shortly after.

Also, if you ordered before the end of December, and haven’t gotten it by the end of February, shoot me an email. It’s hard to keep track of Paypal transactions, so I might miss a few, but I’m pretty sure I’m on top of this. I created a spreadsheet and everything, cause I’m a nerd like that. Still, even nerds make mistakes, so don’t hesitate to let me know if you haven’t gotten yours!

Lastly, anyone who was kind enough to blog about the inital 8-Bit Jesus album release, I would be so very honored if you would blog about the physical copy being available. You can refer your faithful readers here from the post.

Just a quick update for the fine folks out there who ordered copies.

I sent out the first few dozen copies on Monday, but due to crazy weather, I have not been able to send out any more yet. I plan on sending some out today, and hopefully by the end of the week the weather will permit me to send the rest.

8-Bit Jesus Hard Copies Done!

8-Bit Jesus

I’m assuming that you read the title, so I don’t have to tell you again that the hard copies of 8-Bit Jesus are done! I will be shipping out the first 50-100 copies ordered on Monday, February 2nd, which means that for most of you who ordered one between December 22nd and December 24th, yours will be on its way. The rest of the copies will be shipped the following days of next week, but that all depends on when the local store from which I ordered all the shipping envelopes gets them in. They said Wednesday…January 14th…they lied.

No worries, I want to get these babies to you just as much as you all want to have them get to you, so hopefully, by the end of this week, all copies will be on their way to their rightful homes. Feel free to email me to check the status anytime after that date.

If you haven’t picked a copy up yet and would like to, there are plenty more available. It’s only $15 and that includes shipping! Just make sure the mailing address on your PayPal account is current, or email me the correct one after you pay. Follow the cover art below for more info.
