Meet Ein, Pembroke Welsh Corgi

My girlfriend and I got a dog today. We originally ordered him from the local pet shop, which in case you were concerned or wondering, gets all their puppies straight from private breeders, not puppy-mills, complete with pedigree certificate, history (as far as 5 generations back), and all his shots to date. We can even go meet the parents if we want!
Boo puppy mills!
We were expecting to pick up the Corgi puppy on Wednesday or Thursday of next week, but we got a call today from Bill from the shop while I was out buying a new suit for my cousin’s wedding this weekend, telling us that “…[they] just got a Corgi in and it [was] friggin’ cute!” Getting back from our shopping just before the pet shop closed, we headed out to see the Corgi.
When we arrived, Bill scooped up the sleepy pup and handed him to us, exclaiming “Take him, play with him, do what you gotta do.” Prior to entering the store we made an agreement that if the Corgi was not exactly what we wanted, we would wait until Thursday for the Corgi we ordered.
Well…

…how could we not take him home? We’ve already taught him to sit, stop when we tell him “no”, and his first night in the crate he isn’t making a peep.
Why post about a dog on a video game related nerd blog? For one, because he’s friggin’ adorable, and that should be reason enough no matter what the usual content featured on this blog. Secondly, for those of you who have seen the anime Cowboy Bebop, we named Ein after the Corgi in the series. He’s so smart…
32-Bit Genocide: Success

I was going to post this morning around 3am when I got back from the event but seeing as I slept a total of 4 hours during the two days prior in order to finish all my work, I needed to crash.
So, without further hesitation, I present the art of 32-Bit Genocide (for pictures of the bands, you can find some shots by pIENESS on Flickr!).

Otakon 2008: Day Two
Day two of Otakon was a bit more productive, as far as me taking pictures. Aside from what became a daily tradition of going to Burger King for lunch and watching an episode of Firefly before bed, day two contained a number of spontaneus Phoenix Wright photoshoots, a mock trial, and many of us humming various themes from the games, generally those which were written for our particular characters.
I had another Trucy cosplayer ask me to take a picture with her, which was a bit akward since her dad was there – god knows how greatful he was to be dragged around the nerd-infested con by his teen daughter…

Before I bombard you with the inevitable slew of Phoenix Wright related pictures (many of which will lose all but little meaning for those who have not played the series), I will present the few other pictures I managed to snap during day two.

Otakon 2008: Day One
I ended up driving a friend’s car down to Otakon 2008 along with my girlfriend and two of her friends, to one of whom the car belongs. It was an interesting ride at first since I haven’t driven more than the distance between the local bar and my house in years, plus the fact that her car is brand new and has a hair gas and break, but after ten minutes or so I was right back in the groove. We arrived in Baltimore, MD around 6pm and wasted the rest of the night waiting in the pre-registration line, finishing up costumes, and eating snack food that my girlfriend and I bought the day before at Trader Joe’s.
Today was the first official day of Otakon, so we all threw on our costumes and head over to the convention center for a Phoenix Wright photoshoot, since we were all characters from the fourth game in the series, which is entitled Apollo Justice.
